OUR FOUNDERS
Jamie Ranney, a dedicated year-round Nantucket resident with deep family roots on the island, turned his vision of a destination race into reality back in 2009.
Teaming up with his college buddy from Ohio Wesleyan, Bill Burnett, the two combined their knowledge and passion for this exciting event amidst the middle-of-the-summer buzz. With the steadfast support of Nantucket's officials and town staff, they successfully launched the Nantucket Triathlon.
Over the years, this race has grown into a premier sprint triathlon, loved by athletes from across the country - from newcomers to seasoned pros. It's now a yearly summer highlight, eagerly anticipated by both participants and the vibrant Nantucket community.
